The Arafura games mascot has long been the lovable “Rocky the Wallaby”. Rocky the rock wallaby first bounded onto the scene at the very first Arafura Sports Festival in 1991. The rock wallaby is a member of the greater wallaby clan that lives across the Top End of the Northern Territory. Like their kangaroo cousins, wallabies are noted for their athletic ability and can cover ground at great speed. With muaythai’s inclusion in the Arafura Games for the first time this year, IFMA has adopted the wallaby mascot and have created our own “Muaythai Wallaby” mascot. The wallaby is adorned in the traditional mongkol (head band), prajiad (arm bands), ankle bindings and boxing gloves to reflect the sport of muaythai.
