The Torch of Life – IFMA Youth World Cup a great success!

The National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand has been the venue for the 7 days of the 2015 IFMA Royal World Cup. The Youth Cup was a separate event where besides the championship, many other activities were held. Cultural understanding, education, sport and fun was the theme and there is no doubt that the youth will return home with fond memories of the beautiful kingdom of Thailand, and also as young ambassadors of the sport of muaythai, carrying the sport’s hope for the future.

The Royal Thai Government, the Department of Physical Education, have given out special trophies for the best junior athletes and the winners went to:

  1. Junior Male 10 – 11, Kanunon Thanaphon (Thailand) 30 kgs
  2. Junior Female 10 – 11, Nattid Waijara (Thailand) 36 kgs
  3. Junior Male 12 – 13, Ermakov Ivan (Russia) 40 kgs
  4. Junior Female 12 – 13, Crystal Cook (New Zealand) 56 kgs
  5. Junior Male 14 – 15, Begyan Aik (Russia) 54 kgs
  6. Junior Female 14 – 15, Marja Paula Buzaglo (Peru) 57 kgs

The Minister for Tourism and Sport, Mrs Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, IFMA President Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan and representatives from over 30 embassies filled the VIP section and congratulated the youth of muaythai at the closing ceremony.
