A historical MoU has been signed between the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) for all sports to participate in Asian competitions, such as the Asian Games, Asian Beach Games, Asian Indoor Martial Art Games.

Oceania Muaythai President, Sue Glassey stated that, “…this will bring in fantastic opportunities for athletes in the Oceania region to participate in Olympic recognised events against the best athletes from Asia.” Discussions are already in place especially in the two powerhouses, Australia and New Zealand.
