The UAE fighting championship is back. Fighters take a second jab at the million dirhams

The Abu Dhabi Fighting Championship Returns To The Capital October 22 With Round 2 Of The Grand Prix Featuring New Regional Fighters And Returning Champions

The Abu Dhabi Fighting Championship (ADFC) is around the corner with Round 2 of the three Round 1,000,000 dirham Grand Prix in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). The four returning champions Marcos Oliveira, Neil Wain, Sokoudjou Nkamhoua and Shamil Abdurahimov continue their battle for the ADFC title and grand prize while up-andcoming side fighters compete to reach the top ranks of the championship.

In May 2010, ADFC was launched with Round 1. Of the eight championship fighters competing for the Grand Prize last May, four have moved forward. The four victors will take to the cage to see which two will face each other in the Final Round in 2011. In Round 2 championship fights, Brazilian Marcos “Santa Cruz” Oliveira will be up against British Neil “Old Skool” Wain, while Cameroonian Sokoudjou “African Assassin” Nkamhoua will enter the cage against Russian Shamil “Rostov-on-Don” Abdurahimov.

Accompanying the championship fights is a selection of regional and international side fights. The first Emirati mixed martial artist Hassan Al Rumaithi returns, though he is not the only Emirati fighter this time. Ali Ahli, the newest Emirati addition to the fight card will be fighting for the first time this Round. ADFC continues to play host to an array of international and regional fighters, such as Bhupesh Kamble from India and Iraqi Rafat Shawe, providing them with a platform to display their potential.

Tickets are on sale for 250, 650 and 1,600 Dirhams for the three classes of seating and are available at Khalidiyah Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Virgin Megastores, www.ticketingboxoffice.com, www.timeouttickets.com and www.boxofficeme.com.

The official ADFC After-Party will be held next door, at the Aloft Abu Dhabiʼs Splash Garden, with free entrance for all and with the attendance of fighters and special guests.

ADFC is organized by I SEE, an event management company based in Abu Dhabi and specializing in providing novel and exciting events, ranging from large conferences to unique concerts and sporting events.
