Destiny in the Desert, Pro Boxing Event (Results)

1 bout, Heavyweight 10 rounds. Kevin Monthly (Flat Rock, MI, USA) won over Eli Dixon (Warrenville OH, USA), Decision. Kevin Monthly was looking in the ring quite in good shape meanwhile his plump opponent Dixon, was simply fat. During ten rounds Kevin was snapping Dixon's head back with solid jabs and some rights. Dixon threw slapping roundhouse shots for much of the fight, was holding and tried to wear Kevin out in clinch. However the Budda-like heavyweight was unable to put Kevin into trouble. Very close fight. Kevin won by decision.

2 bout, Light Heavyweight 10 rounds.
Carl Handy (New Orleans LA, USA) won Sammy Retta (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), Knockout. This was a truly fight of the night! Sammy, who lost only two fights in his boxing carrier (in both times he was disqualified for low blows), was confident and combinative during the bout. But his opponent Carl Handy was boxing really handy. Most of the punches he threw were precise, accented and landed exactly on target. Carl was feeling comfortable staying on the ropes, although his second was shouting at him ‘off the ropes!’, showed good defense in short range - parrying, blocking, slipping, most of Sammy’s hooks came to Carl’s gloves. Standing at the ropes or in the corner Carl used to spur furiously rocking Sammy’s head with hooks and stiff rights, which beat out Sammy mouth guard few times during the match. In fifth round Retta was into serious trouble but was saved by the bell. In round seven Carl put a lot of pressure and reached Sammy with series of punches, Sammy received a lot of punches and was incapable to defend anymore, so the referee Magomed Suleymanov stopped the contest. Sammy took a lot of punishment in this fight and had had the first serious defeat in his carrier. With no doubt talented boxer and big heart Retta came out to be in bad condition yesterday.

3 bout, Junior Welterweight 4 rounds.
Eisa Aldah (Dubai, UAE) defeated Larry Foster (Orlando, FA, USA), Knockout. Actually boxing fans did not see boxing, Larry Foster kissed the canvas, soon after the round began, rocked by Eisa’s one-two punch. Referee Suleymanov could have counted to one-hundred, Foster was through for the night.

4 bout, Heavyweight 10 rounds.
TJ Wilson (Newark, USA) defeated Marcus McGee (Tuscaloosa, AL, USA) Decision. From the very beginning Wilson was very aggressive and put a lot of preasure on McGee. In second round Wilson reached Marcus with left uppercut after which his right eye became swollen and he could not see clearly. During the match Wilson used phrases “you can not do nothing!”, “you are in trouble!” and also some abusive words, but referee did not reacted. Marcus McGee indeed could do nothing with giant TJ Wilson and decided just to survive the match. Most of the fight he was throwing light jabs at Wilson’s glove. It looked as if he did not want make TJ angry. However even if it was feinting it was not followed by any offensive combination except rear rights to the body. All ten rounds TJ was, from time to time, rushing on Marcus easily reaching him with jabs and straight left hand. McGee suffered a lot of hard punches but very soon started to duck deeply to escape straight left, was alert of Wilson attacks and managed to survive. TJ Wilson dominated the fight send Marcus into knockdown and won by unanimous decision.
