On Wednesday 28, delegation from Consulate-General of Thailand to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Board members of Al Shabab club had unofficial meeting. The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai and Dubai Fight Academy organized special evening of Muaythai in Al Shabab club. Mr. Pasan Teparak - Consul-General of Thailand to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, attended the show. Before demonstration Professor of Muay Thai at Surat Thani Rajabhat University - Somboon Tapina gave brief survey of Muaythai history. Soon after the report of Mr. Tapina honorable guests watched display of Muay Boran to remember the roots of their sport. Two students from Surat Thani Rajabhat University performed techniques of ancient Muaythai. Then another Thai students performed professional Muaythai. Vladimir Burdun took a word and spoke about differences between professional and Amateur Muaythai. Magomed Suleymanov and Ahmed Saadi from Dubai Fight Academy made some demonstration of modern amateur Muaythai. The Royal Thai Consulate-General and Dubai Fight Academy agreed to work in cooperation to promote sport of Muaythai.

The Royal Thai Consulate General in Dubai was established in December 1991 with responsibility for Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Along with the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Consulate has the goal of enhancing commercial, economic and cultural relations between Thailand and United Arab Emirates.
