Lud Fah Muaythai with Pong Lampang (23 May, 2011)

31.05.2011
Lud Fah Muaythai with Pong Lampang (23 May, 2011)Hi everyone! It’s me Pong Lampang, your regular overseas Muaythai news updater. In this week’s Lud Fah Muaythai, the first update will be about the match results from last week.

The first news is that we are still in France. For the WPMF program (Welter Weight of 147 pounds) between local champ, Charles Francois, and Armin Black Dragon Swiss, a Thai Muslim boxer, the French boxer lost his balance and was jabbed by Armin’s kick. He also took a heavy blow to the temple and briefly lost consciousness in the corner of the ring during the middle of the first round, shocking all the French fight fans in the hall. It was no surprise, then, that Armin went on to win the title fight, although it was surprising how little sweat he had to break to achieve victory.

However, the action didn’t end there. While Armin was celebrating his victory by jumping around in the ring, Francois’s brother suddenly jumped up into the ring and attacked him from behind. Armin took a blow to the occipital bone in the lower back part of his skull. This shocked many people before the French staff quickly pulled him away and apologized to the Muslim boxer.

The news reporter from Muay Siam, who witnessed the scene, said that Francois’s brother has mental problems, and when Francois lost to Armin, he could not control his temper and could not accept the defeat. In his cowardly attack, he attacked Armin from behind because he knew he would get kicked by Armin for sure if he dared to attack him from the front. This fight in Champagne, France, was attended by about 3,000 French fans.

This month, 2 Thai boxers—Apisak K.T. Gym and Armin Black Dragon Swiss—have been able to win WPMF titles under the coordination of Mr. Adams, the representative of World Professional Muaythai Federation in France. Mr. Adams has recently made preparations to construct a Muaythai camp called “Sport Max Gym” at Rachapak Chankasem.

On the same day but in Paris in a program organized by Mr. Rachid Sady from RMB Promotion, the main match was Sea Oui Sor Sunanchai versus Yestin Oskul, a Turkish boxer from France. Yestin defeated Sea Oui.

As for the legend of Muaythai in France, Danny Bill ended his boxing career with a disappointing result when he lost on points to a younger boxer from Holland. In this same event, Somrak Kamsing was also in attendance and he will be going to Switzerland to promote his own program when he will be fighting against Hollywood actor Jean Claude Van Dam at the end of this year. As for the location of the fight, it is rumoured to be in Thailand—but we will have to wait for confirmation during the press conference some time soon.

As for next week, on 28 May 2011, Rungrawee Sasiprapa Gym will be fighting in Europe once again, this time in Geneva Switzerland. As for “Mr. Kob” Thagoon Pongsupha, the boxers from his camp will be fighting abroad. These include Saengatit and Duangpratheep Sasiprapa Gym (to Germany), and Pavarit Sathienyuenyong (to Japan). This is expected to earn a lot of income and the press conference will be in Germany for 4 days too.

On Tuesday 31 May, in Hong Kong, Saiyok Windy Sport (Pumpanmuang) has a scheduled match against Andre Culbil. Also, another boxer from the same camp as Saiyok, SamKor Kiatmonthep, has been practicing a lot at the boxing camp in Hong Kong and he will have his comeback fight against a boxer from Belarus. For this program, Madam Voice who has just returned from France will be traveling with Saiyok to Hong Kong as well.

The Thai Fight in Cannes provided a lesson to “Big Mod” Nopporn Vatin, the big promoter. For the next Thai Fight in Hong Kong, “Big Mod” will control and organize everything by himself so that the Thai Fight program will be a super big event once again.

The boxers that will be used in the Hong Kong Thai Fight will be the same boxers used in Cannes. The location will be arranged to an enclosed arena and not an open-spaced venue as was used in Cannes. Recently, about 3,500 tickets have been sold already and it is predicted that on the day, there will be no less than 7,000 fans at the event.

As for Muaythai in Hong Kong, it has been growing in popularity and many fans including some famous superstars have paid close attention to this big event, and it is expected that there could be up to 10,000 people at the event!
