66 Muaythai coaches complete the first C-License course

06.06.2011
66 Muaythai coaches complete the first C-License coursePira Fongdawirat, vice governor of the career and rights sector of the Sports Authority of Thailand, presided over the closing ceremony of the first C-License course of 2011 at the National Muaythai training center of Muak Lek in Saraburi on 30 May, 2011.

The first C-License level training course of 2011 for Muaythai trainers ran from May 24 to 30 at the National Muaythai training center of Muak Lek in Saraburi province. The intention is to improve the standard of Muaythai trainers to reach the C, B and finally A License level so that they can pass on the same proper Muaythai training that they had learned from this course to both local students and foreigners. It is hoped that this will help improve muaythai to reach the global standard and to follow the plan of improving professional Muaythai from year 2011-2014 under the vision: Muaythai as Thai identity, powerful to be the professional sport, reach the global standard, build up the person, income, and build the nation.

Mr. Pira also stated further that this training was supported by Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University which arranged experienced experts to run the lectures and the practical courses totaling 42 hours over 7 days during which about 300 Muaythai techniques were taught. All 66 Muaythai trainers who were selected by the Sports Authority of Thailand to attend this course passed the selection of section 1, section 3 and section 4 and were then picked to join the first lot of C-License trainers. After finishing the course, they will also receive certificates that can be used for their Muaythai training career anywhere in the world. They will also receive auspicious lace that represents the level of each license. For the C license, it will be in yellow and red; for B license, it will be in blue; and lastly for A license, the lace is in gold. For 2012, there will be B and A license training courses for Muaythai trainers as well.

The experienced trainers for the second C license course will be arranged (section 2 and section 5) from 14 to 20 June at the same placeā€”the National Muaythai training center of Muak Lek in Saraburi. At the same time, the official opening ceremony of the National Muaythai Center will be organized and the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Chumphon Silapa-acha, will also be invited to preside over the ceremony.

The National Muaythai Center is open for the youths in Saraburi and other nearby provinces who are interested in learning and practicing Muaythai. The Muaythai practice is on every evening from Monday to Friday. For Saturday and Sunday, the training is for amateur boxers who have passed the selection from camps all around Thailand. They will be sleeping and training at the center under the project of the Muaythai Academy. In the future, the National Muaythai Center will provide boxing lesson packages for foreigners who are interested in learning Muaythai. The courses taught in the center are arranged and organized by Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University.
