Kem knocks out Nopparat and wins Channel 3 Isuzu Championship

Kem knocks out Nopparat and wins Channel 3 Isuzu ChampionshipAt Siam Omnoi Stadium on 11 June, Kem Sid Songpeenong ended the fight against Nopparat Kiatkumtorn by launching an elbow attack on his opponent and knocking him out in the third round. Kem won the 21st Isuzu Championship together with the 1 million Thai Baht cash prize and one Isuzu pick-up. As for Nopparat, he received 500,000 Thai Baht as the runner-up.

For the Suek Jao Muaythai at Siam Omnoi Stadium on Saturday 11 June, 2011, the main fight was between Kem Sid Songpeenong and Nopparat Kiatkumtorn (148 pounds) as the two big rivals were contending the 21st Isuzu Championship title. Of the 5 matches the pair has previously fought, Kem holds the record of 3 wins and 2 loses.

The winner of the match would receive the prizes of 1 million Baht in cash, one Isuzu pick-up, the champion’s belt and the privilege of joining the Thai Fight program. As for the second place, he would receive 500,000 Baht in cash.

The referee was Pichit Prommakong. The rate was 11-8 on Kem and after the first round ended, Kem was leading 2 to 1.

For the second round, Nopparat closed the gap and launched a right kick at Kem who was able to retaliate with a punch. Nopparat tried to attack with knees but he could not manage it accurately. Kem was able to use his right kick and attacked his opponent from the outside rather than focusing on attacking inside. Near the end of the round, Nopparat tried again to attack with his knees. The price was now reduced but the second round ended with Kem still leading 5 to 4.  

In the third round, Kem still attacked with right kicks but he was also switching to punch as well. Nopparat, however, was able to return the attack with knees, much to the relief of his fans. As for Kem, he launched a combination attack of kicks and punches, and then finally, he elbowed Nopparat which resulted in a big wound on Nopparat’s head. Around the middle of the round, Kem caught Nopparat’s jaw with a full elbow, sending him to the canvas. Nopparat was out for the count as the referee counted to 10. Kem won the title by a knockout.

For other match results, competing for the 21st Isuzu championship’s third place, Dernchonlek Sor Sor Niyom won by knockout against Prakaisaeng Sid Or in the fourth round. He received 300,000 Baht cash while Prakaisaeng received 200,000 Baht. Sakdsurin Kietyongyuth lost on points to Ikkyusang Kor Rungthanakiat. Jingreedtong Sor Jitpattana won on points against Saksurin Kaiyanghadao Gym. Saenkenglek Dechadul lost by knockout to Haodong Por Pongsawang in the fourth round. Petchnakorn Dechadul won by knockout against Petch Ek Loukpongket in the first round.
