Petchrungroj turns the tables and beats Yod Khunthap in Suek Assawin Dum

 In the first three rounds, Petchrungroj was not able to put up much of an attack and trailed his opponent 3 to 1. But in the last two rounds, he was able to regain his strength and used right kicks, punches and knees to win on points against Yod Khunthap Por Chaiyawat in the main fight of Suek Assawin Dum at Ramintra Arena on Sunday 24 July, 2011. The sub match saw Petchnumchok Sakchaichote defeat Dechrit Sor Prasopchok on points.
In the muaythai competion, Suek Assawin Dum at Ramintra arena, the main fight was Petchrungroj Kaewsumrit versus Yod Khunthap Por Chaiyawat (108 pounds). The referee for this match was Pongsak Paenlamom.
By the end of the first round, Petchrungroj was leading 5 to 4. In the second round, Petchrungroj attacked Yod Khunthap with right kicks. Yod Kunthap retaliated with a flurry of punches, which Petchrungroj returned in kind. Both fighyters were hitting their mark and it was an equal duel. The second round ended with Yod Khuntap leading narrowly by 5 to 4 now.
In the third round, Yod Khunthap marched in and shoved his knee into Petchrungroj who also managed to land a few blows of his own. However, Yod Khunthap was still looking stronger with his kicks and also managed to grab his opponent’s neck and launch inside attacks. Yok Khunthap’s pace was more stable and better while Petchrungroj was now becoming inactive and not moving much. The third round ended with Yod Khunthap leading 3 to 1.
In the fourth round, Yok Khunthap attacked Petchrungroj with more knees and punches, but Petchrungroj also landed a few counter punches. Around the middle of the round, Petchrungroj regained his strength and focused his attack with right kicks. Yod Khunthap was now starting to retreat back and clinching more. In the middle of the round, Yod Khunthap was on the end of many right kick attacks and finally the round ended with Petchrungroj leading 3 to 2.
In the last round, Yod Khunthap took the initiative and launched a right kick attack on Petchrungroj who also pushed forward and landed a few kicks in return before pushing Yod Khunthap, causing him to get stuck near the rope. The price increased for Petchrungroj again and he maintained his attack to prevent Yod Khunthap from keeping his balance. The fight continued until finally, the round ended with Petchrungroj winning on points against Yod Khunthap 49-48.
For the other matches in the program, Petchnumchok Sakchaichote’s knee attack earned him a win on points against Dechrit Sor Prasopchok. Kukaew Kiatsaknanon lost by knockout to Klomklorm Louk Mahatat in the fourth round. And lastly, Muangkong Parasomboom won on points against Sanpetch Kor Waehon.
