Pongsaklek retaliated with kicks, causing Watcharalek to lose his balance and end up on the canvas. After Watcharalek got back up, he then sent a flurry of knee jabs to soften up his opponent, and then grabbed Pongsaklek by the neck and pulled his head down onto his knees almost making Pongsaklek lose the fight right there and then. However, Pongsaklek would not give up and continued to fight back. In the middle of the round, he jabbed his knee into Watcharalek, which gained him a cheer from fans.
