Wanchalerm defeats Sanghiran on points in Muay Jed SeeWanchalerm (Ood Donmuang) used his size advantage to come from behind  and defeat Sanghiran Louk Baanyai on points in the main fight of Suek Muaythai Jed See at the temporary Muaythai arena at Bangkok University’s Thonburi Campus on 7 August.

In Suek Muaythai Jed See at the temporary muaythai arena at Bangkok University’s  Thongburi Campus on the recent Sunday 7 August, 2011, the main fight was Sanghiran Louk Baanyai versus Wanchalerm Ood Donmuang (130 pounds rule). The referee for the fight was Mr. Kriangsak Thonghong. The rate was on Sanghiran 5 to 4, and by the end of the first round, Sanghiran was still leading by the same score.

In the second round, Sanghiran took the fight to his opponent with a series of low kicks. However, Wanchalerm’s size advantage allowed him to absorb Sanghiran’s attacks and he retaliated with right kicks. The match was still fairly equal and the second round ended with with Sanghiran still leading but the price was now reduced to 10 to 9.

In the third round, Sanghiran landed a few punches in his own unique style but he was kicked back by Wanchalerm. Wanchalerm was now starting to land a number of kicks and weaken Sanghiran. Wanchalerm also landed a well-timed knee into Sanghiran. The price was now changed with Wanchalerm leading 3 to 2.

In the fourth round, Sanghiran picked up the pace and threw a number of kicks and punches.  However, his attacks were not reaching Wanchalerm who again used his size advantage to good effect. Wanchalerm launched a counter attack and the round ended with the younger and bigger fighter leading comfortably at 20 to 1.

In the beginning of the last round, Sanghiran quickened his pace and launched a 30-second flurry of punches. However, he also showed signs of giving up due to the size disadvantage that was preventing him from hitting Wanchalerm directly and successfully. It was also still clearly suffering from the attacks he received in the fourth round. The round ended with Wanchalerm winning 47-49 on points under the consideration of 3 referees, Cherdchaicharnnon Sricharas, Kranchai Nebbua and Sanong Oumim.
