April 3rd will be a historic day for muaythai for many reasons…it is the launch-date of the official muaythai applica-tion for IOC process, application for inclusion in the World Games, and the launch of the 'Sport is Your Gang' cam-paign. Many high profile international sporting personalities such as the President of SportAccord, and the Presi-dent of the World Games, IOC member, will travel to Bangkok to join the World Muaythai Council, the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur, the Amateur Muaythai Association of Thailand and the Royal Thai Government for this Gala Event held in a five-star location, the Bangkok Convention Centre.
Ron Froehlich, President of the International World Games Association accepting some muaythai souvenirs presented to him by Miss Thailand Universe 2008 at the Muaythai Cultural Night during the 2010 SportAccord World Combat Games in Beijing
There will be a Super Four, where four of the world's most outstanding muaythai athletes will compete for the his-toric King Bhumibol Muaythai Trophy, donated especially for the prestige of muaythai by His Majesty the King of Thailand.
Saiyok, one of the biggest names in Thailand, will be the hope of the entire kingdom. The European Champion and runner-up of the famous muaythai TV reality show 'Challenger', Englishman Jordan Watson, together with Vuyisile Colossa, the South African muaythai champion, and Ilya Grad of Israel, the winner of the Open Asia Championship, will be competing in a round robin competition. No doubt, the entire Kingdom will be on its feet to watch this his-toric occasion. Will the first ever King Bhumibol trophy leave the kingdom, or can Saiyok defend the nation's honour and make history?
Saiyok Pumpanmuang
The event will be telecast for two hours live on TV and on ESPN, Star Sport in all Asian countries.
