13 March 2012 To: All IFMA Member National Federations From: Stephan Fox, IFMA General Secretary Dear Colleagues, I would like to ask you from today onwards to make a weekly update on our events on your websites and maybe also once a month send a newsletter to your NOCs and Sport Authorities. We must show the world our activities and show them how strong we are and that we stand out from any other so-called sanctioning body and world federation. This weekend we have a fantastic Muaythai Against Drugs promotion in Cape Town, with our Vice President and PM of Kazakhstan sending a team to the event to support and celebrate the relationship between Kazakhstan and South Africa. HE General Pichitr Kullavanijaya, privy councillor, our honourary President has granted the Muaythai Against Drugs belt. Part of the proceeds will go towards the MAD foundation in South Africa. Preparations for our April 3rd event are well under way. Charissa has sent you all the press releases, so please publicize them however you can. End of next week, we will send you the email address and name of your the head of your diplomatic missions in Thailand. We will invite them, and we ask you to please encourage them to come. The President’s Cup Peace & Sport Through Muaythai event in Iran – over 30 countries have already confirmed participation so we will have at least 40 countries, and it will no doubt be a major success. We will try to establish our commissions before April 3rd and I know that our Female Commission is already planning a meeting during the Iran Event, and we will try to schedule a couple of other ones as well. The European Championships are also in full preparation. I know that our Turkish NF together with the General Secretary and International Coordinator of the EMF are working overtime to make the event a major success. You all have received the final documentation for the upcoming World Championships in Russia and we will travel to St. Petersburg shortly to meet with the President of the RMTF and the General Secretary of the EMF for a site visit. On the professional side, we have so many events coming up: 1. The Silk Road Trophy in Uzbekistan 2. Evolution & Epic promotions in Australia 3. 2 x World Title fights coming up in France 4. World Title fight in Slovakia 5. World Title fight in San Francisco, USA 6. World & MAD title fights @ the O2 Arena in London, the venue for last year’s SportAccord Convention opening ceremony. Our International Office is working overtime for the upcoming SportAccord Convention in Quebec where muaythai, WMC and IFMA will be as always a part of the exhibition. IFMA is pleased to grant its sanctioning to the upcoming President’s Cup Peace & Sport event in Tehran scheduled for the 3rd - 9th of May 2012. This event will be a very important event on our calendar to promote cultural understanding and peace through sport and show that sport can make a difference. Over 40 countries are expected to participate and the event has also been posted on the official SportAccord website (http://www.sportaccord.com/en/news/index.php?idContent=15967). The event will be officially announced on April 3rd in Bangkok during an important gala event at which dignitaries such as the President SportAccord Mr. Hein Verbruggen, President of International World Games Association Mr. Ron Froehlich, Dr. CK Wu and Yingluck Shinawatra Prime Minister of Thailand will be present. As discussed in our meeting the event fee will be USD $40,000 which will be cover payment for all activities and event costs needed from IFMA side.
