Showing respect to the art, the teachers and the opponent is muaythai is an integral part of muaythai as an art form.

This year’s junior wai khru competition showed that muaythai’s traditions are safe and will never be forgotten, especially when 8 year old children can perform the wai khru as beautiful or even more beautiful than their seniors.

In the end, the home team Malaysia, Chinese- Taipei and Turkey won medals in the different divisions, but all the kids received a standing ovation for their outstanding performance. Having the chance to be in the ring on the same day as all their heroes was an absolute highlight for the future champions in muaythai.
