Afghanistan, one of the strongest muaythai nations in Asia, has received the highest honour from their National Olympic Committee which has granted voting member status to the Afghanistan National Muaythai Federation, under the Presidency of Mr Amir Hussain Hussaini.
This will bring the number up to 32 National Federations in Asia which have received full recognition by their relevant NOCs as members of IFMA and FAMA.
IFMA President, Dr. Sakchye and FAMA President, HE Karim Massimov have sent congratulatory messages to the NOC of Afghanistan for suuporting the development of muaythai in Afghanistan.
FAMA General Secretary, Mervyn Tan stated that Afghan muaythai athletes are true ambassadors for the sport of muaythai as well as for cultural exchange.
IFMA sport Director, Charissa Tynan stated that at the last six major events, be thery organised by IFMA or the OCA, Afghan athletes have always made great sporting achievements, bringing pride and honour back to their home country bearing medals.
IFMA General Secretary, Stephan Fox sent special wishes to all Afghan athletes which now proudly can use Afghanistan Olympic logo for further encouragement in bright future sporting careers.
