The Afghanistan Muaythai Federation once again organised the Afghanistan Female Muaythai Championship in the Afghan capital city of Kabul continue to promote gender equality as part of IFMA Right for all participation in sport.
Female athletes from all over the country arrived to Kabul to compete for the right to represent Afghanistan at upcoming IFMA World Championships in Sweden.
Many distinguished guests attended the event, including representatives from the National Olympic Committee, Department of Physical Education and many others whom were there to support the athletes and female sport development in Afghanistan. Muaythai in Afghanistan has truly become popular for people from all walks of life and the Afghanistan Muaythai Federation under Presidency of Amir Hussaini is fully recognized by the National Olympic Committee, sports authority and one of the powerhouses of Muaythai in Asia.
Sue Latta, the Chairperson of the IFMA Female Commission and IFMA Vice President, said that muaythai truly has developed in many Islamic countries. Afghanistan is a very positive example of this development and IFMA will continue to encourage our National Federation to ensure to foster and promote the participation of woman at all levels and disciplines of muaythai to ensure and continue our path of equality of men and women continuing to work closely with UN Women as a partner to stop violence against women and girls.
