Muaythai Marathon 2011Muaythai Marathon 2011 will feature Buakaw Por Pramuk, the 2 times K-1 champion, and Yodsanklai Fairtex competing against the regional winners and runners-up for the title of the Muaythai Marathon from 4 Arenas. The total prize for this competition is about 4 million baht. The Muaythai marathon begins on 25 March 2011 in Saraburi province. Channel 7 will provide live broadcast from 2pm to 5 pm.

    Mr. Thavorn Prohmchai, the Saraburi governor, along with Mr. Nikorn Prasermsom, the vice director of Toyota Motor Thailand Company, recently took part in the opening ceremony on the 16 March 2011 at the Thai Army Club. They took the opportunity to introduce the event’s sponsorship by Toyota Motor Thailand Company and Charoen Pokphand Food company (CPF) under the title “Suek Jao Muaythai Vigo Championship and Caravan CPF”.

    For the Muaythai marathon this year, the budget is a huge amount. The prize money alone is 4 million baht. The qualification fights will take place in 4 arenas in 4 different provinces. In the 5th and final arena, Buakaw Por Pramuk and Yodsanklai will be on standby to fight the winners.

    For the first arena, the location is at Suanrimkao near Saraburi bypass on Friday 25 March 2011. Channel 7 will provide the live broadcast from 2pm to 5pm. This competition is a Super Welterweight program. The old champions, Akepracha Meenayothin and Petchmunkong Kaiyanghadao Gym, will take on 6 opponents from abroad: Michael Corley (USA), Mikel Le Lamanc (France), Scott Renton (Australia), Vahid Roshani (Iran), Stephen Meikle (Scotland) and Yassin Daklim (Algeria).

Speaking about the Muaythai marathon, Mr. Nikorn Prasertsom, the vice director of Toyota Motor Thailand Company, said that in addition to the usual 4 arenas, this year the 5th arena will be used in Nakornrajasima in October, ensuring that it will be the biggest Muaythai Marathon ever.

Buakaw Por Pramuk and Yodsanklai Fairtex, 2 great Muaythai boxers, will be on standby to fight against the winner and runner up from each of the 4 arenas. The prizes for the winner include 1 million baht money and a Vigo car valued at 690,000 baht. The overall budget for the prizes in this competition is considered very huge at about 4 million baht in total!
