The Tsunami disaster in Sendai, Japan, resulted in Thai boxers having to escape as fast as they could. Even though all of them were safe, they wanted to return to Thailand as soon as possible because of the hardship that they were in.
Kengkaj Shuwattana panicked but escaped successfully as a gasoline storehouse in Tokyo exploded. As for Nopdech 2 Chuwattana, Chuthin Por Tawachchai and Chondan Technodusit, all of whom who live in Yokohama, they encountered only power and water failures. Kritkanok IrelandMuaythai missed the championship because he fled from Osaka to leave the tragedy in Japan with Sia Naris.
The sudden Tsunami disaster in Japan resulted in a big mess for the Thai boxers and the boxing staff as follows:
“Kengkaj” narrowly avoids tragedy in gasoline storehouse explosion Kengkaj Chuwattana, who moved to Japan to be a trainer and a boxer in Tokyo, spoke about the situation resulting from the Tsunami. He said that even after the wave had receded, a lot of chaos still followed, such as the explosion of a gasoline storehouse that his shelter was located near. The explosion was big and the pressure from the explosion destroyed a large area of land, resulting in many deaths and injuries.
The students of “Angmor” stayed in the dark The 3 students of Angmor (Chukiat Raweearamwong) are Nopdech 2 Chuwattana, Chuthin Por Tawachchai and Chondan Technodusit who made a living in Yokohama as trainers. Even though they were not directly affected by the wave, they had encountered several troublesome situations such as the electricity and water failure (the electricity went out across the whole city). Full of sorrow, the 3 boxers mentioned that they want desperately to return home to Thailand and did not want to stay in Japan anymore.
“Narsuan-Dentoranee”, not affected In Fukushima, the Thai boxer Narsuan Sasiprapagym who went to Japan to be a trainer said that the city is located in the mountain and was not hit by the wave. However, his area was affected by the earthquake. The buildings were shaking and it scared him too but other than that, nothing else happened.
For Dentoranee Nakorntong Parkview, who lives in Kyoto, he said he was lucky because the city was not affected by the disaster at all but even so he wanted to return to Thailand as soon as possible because he did not know if a tsunami would happen again or not. He also mentioned that he called his boxing friends to find out whether they were fine or not during the disaster.
Klitkanok returns home due to the cancellation of the championship Klitkanok IrelandMuaythai, the female boxer from Korkiet Group, was scheduled to fight in a championship 102-pound (WBC) match against the defending champion Momo Koseki in Tokyo on Saturday 12 March 2011.
It is such a pity for her because the program was cancelled and Sia Naris has arranged to bring her back to Thailand. They left Osaka for Thailand on 13 March, 2011.
For Sanchai Joker, the Thai boxing preparatory in Japan, has contact Povarit Satienyuenyong went to Japan to box on 13 March 2011. But because of the sudden tragedy, the match was then postponed to 26 March 2011 instead. Even though they have wasted their time traveling, Povarit and Torsakd Sasiprapa Gym were glad to be safe. They had to get off in Osaka but now they are staying in Tokyo under the caretaking of Saenchai who went to pick them up. The two will remain in Tokyo and will prepare for the matches on 26 March 2011.
