Muaythai to be in Sport Accord 2012, Canada

23.04.2011
Muaythai to be in Sport Accord 2012, CanadaThe latest meeting of the International Sports or Sport Accord 2011 was held at the Park Plaza Hotel, London, England recently on April 8, 2011. The meeting was attended by many organizations from all around the world, such as International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA), the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and GISE, as well as 1,000 more organizations of different sports.

These organizations came to discuss and share opinions about the improvement for sport in the future and also about what to do in order to present a good image.

The Muaythai martial art booth of Dr. Sakchai Tapsuwan, the president of International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA), gained a lot of good feedback from the people who attended the meeting. Comments were discussed and shared about the presentation of the booth, especially from the 128 IFMA members who have been supporting muaythai to become a new Olympic sport in the future.

Dr. Sakchai also mentioned that he was very proud of the event because there was so much good feedback. He did not expect that many foreign nations would travel to Thailand to see this event and show so much interest in Muaythai. As for sending expert Muaythai coaches abroad to teach a high standard of Muaythai, he will try to maintain the quality as well as continuing to present the news of Muaythai so that it will be known by the whole world.

“As usual, we will have about 3 important international programs a year. But since we have gained a lot of good feedback, the image has been improving so we are looking forward to having more matches in the future. If any foreign side shows interest or wants to arrange the program, we will let IFMA decide and help.”

The Sport Accord 2012 program will be held in Canada.

As for the King’s Cup program, it will take place at the end of this year in dedication to the 84th birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol. Many nations are looking forward to attending this important program as well as giving their strong support.
