Introducing Dubai Top Team: Mostafa Abdollahi

27.09.2011
Introducing Dubai Top Team: Mostafa AbdollahiQ: How did you start your sport career? Why muaythai?
I started my career in sports with taekwondo. It was an accidental decision, so after some time when I realized that I really like combat sports I switched to kickboxing because it was a bit more interesting for me that time. As for today my sports career in muaythai achieves 6 years and I think I’m in love with this sport. I can describe advantages of this sport for a long time but still all that will not describe my feelings to it. So if you ask me why muaythai I would answer that it’s my life now.

Q: Did you have any goal to achieve when you got into the world of muaythai? Now when you are a professional fighter, did your goals changed somehow? If yes, then what would you like to achieve now?
When I was younger I watched K-1 competitions and had a goal to become one of the champions there, in the world of real men and real fights. As the time has passed, I’ve gained few international titles, but still my goal is the same. I believe that I’ll never stop achieving it because I enjoy being in the world of muaythai as well as all professional fighters love when their skills are awarded by titles and other valuable prizes. In other words, we live by the rule “One World. One Muaythai” and we always do our best to be champions no matter what.

Q: Can you tell us about the most memorable highlight within your career?
The most memorable moment for me happened in 2007, when I became a winner of Asian Indoor Games in Macau. I was standing on the platform to receive my gold medal and I saw the flag of my country, Iran, on the top. I was so excited as I didn’t only prove something to myself but I brought my country to the top – I defended the national pride. It was a great time and I will never forget that day.

Q: What do you feel when you become the winner?
When I win I feel happy and peaceful because I know that I’ve achieved my goal. Moreover, I realize that all my trainings and workouts before this victory were effective.

Q: What do you feel when you lose?
I never feel like losing. So, when I don’t win I want to leave the ring immediately as I feel depressed and unhappy with myself. Of course I never do that and I usually hide my emotions. I’m always happy for my opponent who was stronger or maybe luckier than me, and of course I thank him for a good fight and an opportunity to revise my own mistakes. After the defeat I go back to trainings to make my skills better and eliminate things I did wrong in previous competitions. More than that, I renew my mental level of preparation as you should be strong both physically and mentally in order to become a winner and a champion.
