Introducing Dubai Top Team: Ramazan Ramazanov

04.10.2011
Introducing Dubai Top Team: Ramazan RamazanovQ: How did you start your sport career? Why muaythai?
I went into sports because I wanted to become fit and strong both physically and mentally – that was the only way for me to be able to protect myself, my family, and people who are close and valuable to me. For me muaythai is the best kind of martial arts, as it’s tough but at the same time it brings you freedom (you can use all your skills and you have more opportunities in using your body as well), strengthens your spirit, and allows you to achieve a lot.

Q: Did you have any goal to achieve when you got into the world of muaythai?
Now when you are a professional fighter, did your goals changed somehow? If yes, then what would you like to achieve now?
When I realized that I can be real professional in muaythai and that it can become my main occupation in life, the main goal for me was to prove everyone in the world that I’m the real Champion. So, I got my first World Title. After some time I won more World Title fights and made everyone be proud of me as well as by each new victory I was proving myself that I can achieve more. At some stage I’ve got a new dream – I wanted to become K-1 Champion. I’ve participated in K 1 competitions, however, I still didn’t get the desired title there. So, that is the main goal to achieve for me now. Moreover, as my followers can remember I had a Planet Battle for the Intercontinental Title, and I was unfairly (as I think) disqualified from the fight. So, I need the rematch for this fight to prove my excellence.

Q: Can you tell us about the most memorable highlight within your career?
The most memorable thing was my first victory in the fight for the World title in Thailand. I was 19 years old that time, but this moment is still evoking a lot of warm emotions in me. Other memorable moment was the Planet Fight disqualification, as it also brought me lots of emotions (unfortunately, not positive) and it made me train times harder than before.

Q: What do you feel when you become the winner?
The feeling of victory is the best feeling for me! Before any fight you have to train a lot, and you have to be prepared to each fight both physically and mentally. At the end of the day, when you perform well and achieve your goal – become the winner – you are happy as you’ve accomplished another goal and maybe even reached another level in your career.

Q: What do you feel when you lose?
When I lose I feel really angry and upset. Mostly it’s not because of the other fighter’s victory but because I didn’t do my best to become the winner at the end of the day. Therefore, I insist on the immediate rematch as I always want to prove that I’m skilled and strong enough to be the best.
