Q: How did you start your sport career?

I’ve started my sport career by doing adventure outdoor sports like rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking, cannoning, caving, etc. I used to do that in Pyrenean mountains in France and as well as in Spain. After some time I immigrated with my family to Thailand and discovered Muaythai for myself.

Q: Why muaythai?

Well, at the beginning muaythai was the key to have new friends and get used to new cultural conditions, as we were the only Occidental family in the village we moved to. Moreover, that was the best way to learn Thai language in a short period of time. When I got friends I found out that they are all muaythai fighters, therefore, I can say that I chose this sport also because of my friends.

Q: Congratulations, Mansoor! You are the first UAE national who won IFMA Asian Champion Title. How can you evaluate your performance during the Championship on Kish?

Thank you. As for me IFMA Asian Open Championship 2011 was both easy and tough, and I’ll explain why. On the one hand, I haven’t participate in such international competitions for couple of years, so I was expecting that my opponents will be strong and might even be more skilled. So, that was the tough part. On the other hand, I trained hard to prove myself that I can achieve a lot and that my country can be proud of me. Moreover, I had huge support from Dubai Martial Arts Academy that gave me the opportunity to participate in the Championship as well as from muaythai followers of the UAE. Thus, I was inspired and excited enough, and that was the easy part for me.

Dubai Martial Arts Academy officials and fighters believe that music is as important in life as sports, as it inspires and helps to achieve a lot. Therefore, our sportsmen are eagerly waiting for Roxette concert in Dubai!
